THE LITTLE GEM CALLED HEMINGWAYS – LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Date published: 13/02/2017

Two weeks ago I spent a night at The Hemingways. Hemingways Nairobi is located in Karen, very quiet and serene you’ll forget you’re in Nairobi. Hemingways Nairobi is not “home away from home” it’s a hidden luxe getaway that I’m grateful I got to experience. I spent a cool 24 hours at Hemingways Nairobi and this what I experienced.

I had a farm in Africa, at the foot of the Ngong Hills.

Service Beyond Your Expectations

The service at Hemingways is unmatched, I have honestly never experienced anything like it. I felt like a queen with the way I was treated; from the check in at the front desk to being shown around my room.

When you check in, you get your very own butler; who is on call for anything and everything you might need. He is available round the clock.

I had a nasty cold during my stay but the Food and Beverage Manager was so kind and requested the kitchen to make for me the honey, lemon, ginger tea.

Peace & Quiet

I love my me time; me time is a necessity and something I have to have on a weekly basis. It’s the perfect time to center yourself, regroup or even catch up on your favourite TV shows.

It doesn’t matter if you do it in your bedroom, living room, cafe etc. I got to to just that, however this time I was in a bomb af bathroom. This had to be my most favourite place in the entire hotel. I took the longest most relaxing bath; something that I needed.

I stayed in the Finch Hatton Suite. The suite is connected to The Karen Blixen Suite. It over looks the Ngong Hills – the view is to die for especially during sunset.

Romance

I stayed in the Finch Hatton Suite. The suite is connected to The Karen Blixen Suite. It over looks the Ngong Hills (The view is to die for especially during sunset).

Finch Hatton and Karen Blixen were lovers. The movie “Out of Africa” is based on their relationship. Karen Blixen had a farm at the foot of Ngong hills. When he died, he was buried at the ngong hills overlooking the Blixen House.

The hotel also has such a beautiful garden that you can take an evening walk in.

The one thing I will go back for is their Afternoon High Tea.  Drinking tea on the terrace as the sun sets behind the Ngong Hills is such a beautiful site.
